Non-Reference Refunds

A non-reference refund is required for transactions that didn't originate on GoDaddy Poynt, or are older than 180 days.

You can process a non-reference refund on your smart terminal or from a web browser.

Smart Terminal

Note:
This option is only available for terminal users with "Owner" permissions.

  1. Click the Manual Entry tab on the home page of the terminal.nrr-manual
  2. From the drop down menu, choose NON-REF REFUND

  3. Enter in the amount to refund, credit card number, expiration date, CVV, and billing zip code. Street Number is not required.
  4. Press the Refund button to complete the transaction.

Note:
If you're not seeing the NON-REF REFUND option in the drop-down, please contact us to have this feature enabled on your account.

Web Browser

Not near a terminal? You can issue a non-reference refund from your GoDaddy Poynt merchant account portal.

  1. Go to the Dashboard where you manage your GoDaddy Poynt account.
  2. Click Virtual Terminal in the left hand side menu.
  3. Click the first Virtual Terminal button.
  4. A new window will open up, follow the steps outlined here to complete your non-reference refund.
