What is required for setting up a Moolah account?

To be straightforward, it's a pretty simple process.

All we need is:

  • Your business address
  • A business checking account for deposits
  • If you're incorporated, your EIN (Tax ID)
  • The last four digits of the owner's Social Security Number

If you're a sole proprietor, all you'll need is the full Social Security Number.

Most practices can complete the application online in just a few minutes.

How long does it take to get up and running with Moolah?

How long does it take to receive a payment to my bank account?

With Moolah, payments are typically deposited the next business day.

For card transactions processed before the daily cutoff time, funds are generally included in the next business day's deposit.

Transactions taken after the cutoff time will be included in the following business day's funding cycle.

Weekends and bank holidays can add an additional business day before funds are deposited.

In most cases, you can expect fast, reliable next-business-day funding.

Can we eliminate credit card processing fees?

In most states, yes, you can. This is called a compliant surcharge program.

With Moolah, our system automatically knows when a patient pays with a credit card. When that happens, the patient is clearly informed that a 2.99% processing fee will be added because they are choosing to pay with a credit card.

If a patient pays with cash, check, or debit card, the practice pays a flat 2.29% rate instead.

All of this happens automatically.

We also provide the required signage and disclosures so patients are properly notified and everything stays compliant.

Your team doesn't need to calculate anything or explain complicated rules.

It's important to note that surcharge programs are not currently available in every state. Connecticut is the only state where surcharging is prohibited, and other states may have specific disclosure and regulatory requirements.

Do we have to buy terminals?

No. Moolah offers flexible options when it comes to payment terminals.

Depending on your practice's needs, we can provide wireless smart terminals that are ready to use right out of the box.

In many cases, the cost of the terminal can be included as part of your payment processing relationship, so there is no large upfront investment required.

We'll work with you to determine the best solution for your office and ensure you have the equipment you need to accept payments efficiently.
