How to Void/Refund a Payment in Crown
The need for voiding and refunding does arise, and when it does Crown makes it extremely easy to manage.
- Locate the transaction in Crown.
- Click the three dots on the right side of the transaction. This opens a small action menu.
- Select Void or Refund. In most cases, you can void a payment until your close of day. After your close of day, refund it instead, up to 180 days after the payment.
Your close of day is set in your GoDaddy merchant account. To check it, sign in at commerce.godaddy.com and go to Settings, then Payouts. It's shown under Close of Day.
Note:
Transactions older than 180 days require running a Non-Reference Refund to issue a refund. See Non-Reference Refunds for the steps.
We recommend issuing voids and refunds directly within Crown. If a void or refund is processed from the terminal or your GoDaddy merchant account instead, the transaction will automatically sync back to Crown within about a minute.
Crown supports one partial refund per payment. To issue more than one partial refund on the same payment, refund it in your GoDaddy merchant account. Crown picks up the refund and shows it on the payment in Crown. See GoDaddy's guide to issuing a refund.
